Founder of Attuned Speech | Mental Health & Trauma Speech Pathologist

Kizzy is a skilled and empathetic speech therapist who has dedicated herself to helping individuals of all ages and backgrounds improve their communication abilities. She is passionate about working collaboratively with clients and their support systems to create individualized treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals.

Throughout her career, Kizzy has gained a diverse range of experience, including providing services in First Nations organizations, working with trauma-informed care teams, training educators in rural and disadvantaged communities, and providing therapy in homes, day centers, schools, and preschools.

Kizzy believes that forming genuine connections with clients is essential to effective therapy. By understanding their motivations and challenges, she is able to tailor her approach and support them in achieving meaningful and long-term results. She prioritizes creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment, where clients feel believed and supported.

Beyond her clinical work, Kizzy is committed to coaching, training, and supervising others in the field of speech therapy. She is passionate about empowering her colleagues with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to provide effective therapeutic services to their own clients.

Kizzy has lived experience of complex trauma and significant mental distress. She has personally experienced how mental health and trauma impact on and are impacted by communication difficulties and has learnt strategies to overcome these in her own life. Through these experiences, she has become very passionate about mental health and trauma-informed speech therapy and truly values the individual lived experience of each of her clients.

Qualifications

Kizzy is a certified practicing speech pathologist through Speech Pathology Australia and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology – Honours First Class) through the University of Sydney.

Kizzy has completed the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Course through the Sydney Institute for Psychoanalysis, which has enriched her understanding of the complex interplay between psychology and communication. She is also a trauma-informed coach through the Centre for Healing.
